On the 24th, Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes against the Red Sea port city of Hudaydah, which is controlled by 'Ansar Allah' (the Houthis) in Yemen; Yemen’s Kamaran Island, located in the Red Sea, was also attacked.
On the 25th, 'Ansar Allah' vowed to take revenge against Saudi Arabia.
On social media, 'Ansar Allah' stated that the enemy's raids targeting civilian facilities in Hudaydah and Kamaran Island constitute a dangerous escalation, adding: "We solemnly declare, these latest crimes will not go unanswered."
A Yemeni security source told AFP that Saudi Arabia’s targets in this attack included a naval base in Hudaydah and a military camp on Kamaran Island.
In addition, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, Maliki, stated that in response to 'Ansar Allah's attacks on Red Sea shipping, the coalition struck 'Ansar Allah' positions and destroyed targets threatening the safety of commercial vessels.
He said the coalition had responded decisively and forcefully, targeting military facilities 'Ansar Allah' used to threaten Red Sea shipping.
He noted that the military response has now ended.
On the 20th, 'Ansar Allah' announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia and warned international shipping companies that any vessels trading with Saudi ports might face military strikes.
On the 23rd, the group stated that it used missiles and drones in the Red Sea to attack two Saudi oil tankers that violated its blockade order.
