In Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, an internet user reported that they recently purchased a serving of shaomai from a food delivery platform, but halfway through eating discovered the bottom of the shaomai was stained with a large amount of blood. Later, when confronting the shop's customer service, the other party admitted it was their own blood but refused to undergo blood testing. The customer could only call the police and go to the hospital for examination and take preventative medicine against infectious diseases to protect themselves.
According to a report by Jimu News, on June 13, the above-mentioned internet user bought a breakfast set for 22.8 yuan via a delivery platform. After eating several shaomai, he noticed that a large amount of blood was at the bottom of the remaining pieces. When confronting the shop's customer service, the other party admitted it was their own blood but refused to take an infectious disease test.
After calling the police, the user went to the hospital for a physical exam and took medication to block infectious diseases. Online information said the shop involved was a snack bar near Xihu Cultural Square.
An official from the Gongshu District Market Supervision Bureau said that on June 15, a consumer did reflect that they found blood in a takeaway meal bought from the above snack bar on June 13. Staff investigated the store on site and found that a staff member had cut their hand, causing blood to drip into the food, and did not notice it at the time.
The market supervision department has already contacted the customer; the staff member's health report and health certificate have been provided to the customer, and both sides have reached a settlement.
