(Miri, 23rd) Miri Mayor Adam Yii stated that the rooftop of the Miri City Council building has become a popular check-in spot for both residents and tourists due to its spectacular 360-degree panoramic view and stunning sunset scenery. According to statistics, a total of 1114 visitors went to the rooftop to enjoy the view of Miri City in November this year.
He mentioned that the rooftop viewing point is open daily from 5 PM to 7 PM, including public holidays. Mayor Adam Yii encourages more residents and tourists to experience the unique beauty of Miri City and feel the charm and tranquility of the city.
He chaired the 12th monthly meeting of 2024 held by the Miri City Council this morning in the council building’s 9th-floor conference room, where various municipal affairs were reported and discussed.
In his welcoming address, Mayor Adam Yii welcomed the members of the council and heads of relevant departments, thanking them for their contributions to the development of Miri City over the past year. He encourages everyone to continue striving to provide better services for the residents of Miri.
He announced that the 12th City Council Open Day of 2024 will be held on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, from 9 AM to 10 AM at the entrance of the Miri Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) (date and location to be further confirmed). The Open Day provides an opportunity for residents to directly interact with the city council, listen to residents' opinions and suggestions to better serve the community.
Additionally, the Miri City Council warmly congratulates the Rurum Kelabit Sarawak Association for winning the Silver Award in the 2024 Anugerah SMART Komuniti organized by the Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government with its ‘Pesta Nukenen Program’ (Bario Food and Cultural Festival).
This award recognizes the outstanding contribution of the Bario Food Festival in cultural and heritage preservation, while also reflecting the development concept of a sustainable and progressive community. This achievement demonstrates the importance of collaboration between local authorities and communities in achieving sustainable development goals and sets an example for other communities.
Mayor Yii hopes that this honor will inspire other communities in Miri to undertake more meaningful projects, collectively driving Miri City's sustainable development and progress.
