(Seria, 25th) The President of the Malay Hainan Association, Kong Fanci, has officially stepped down in the re-election of the association’s new council, fulfilling his long-held wish of 'stepping aside for the worthy.' He has set an exemplary model for a smooth generational transition and laid a solid foundation for the association’s future development.

Kong Fanci expressed his hope that young members will bravely shoulder important responsibilities, continue to lead the association forward, and carry on the excellent tradition of unity and mutual support among Hainanese clansmen. He believes intergenerational succession is a necessary path for the healthy development of any organization, as only by letting the younger generation take on leadership can the association continue to grow.

He revealed that as early as the preliminary selection phase for the new council, he had expressed his intention to step down, hoping to bring new ideas and energy to the leadership team. Despite repeated efforts by several council members to retain him, he stood firm in his decision and thanked the new council for their understanding and support, which enabled the transition to proceed smoothly.

Kong Fanci stated: “I have served as president for ten years. It is time to hand over the baton to a new team so that they can further develop on the existing foundation and inject more creativity and vitality into the association.” He emphasized that stepping down is not leaving, but another form of support and witness. He hopes the association, under the new leadership, will uphold the clan spirit, unite their strength, and continue to break new ground.

Since joining the council, Kong Fanci has served for 26 years, devoting himself to the development of the association. Last year, he was awarded the 25-Year Long Service Award in recognition of his years of contribution and tireless dedication. Looking back on his time in office, he expressed deep gratitude to previous councils, members, and fellow clan members for their trust and encouragement: “Everyone’s support has been my greatest motivation to continue serving. It has been a great honor to work alongside all my fellow clansmen.”

Kong Fanci's stepping down symbolizes the continuation of the association’s legacy and marks a new chapter for the Malay Hainan Association as it moves forward steadily with both stability and innovation.
