The Best of Us · Starlight Reunion Concert: Lee Peiling and Priscilla Abby's Duet Becomes a Highlight

"The Best of Us · Starlight Reunion Concert" was held on the evening of the 4th at Bukit Jalil Pavilion Piazza Twilight Market. Eight singers who participated in 8TV's music program "The Best of Us"—Lee Peiling, Liu Hanjie, Priscilla Abby, Xu Kai, Laila, Jestinna Kuan, Hong Chenfeng, and Cai Jingxuan—took the stage in turn, performing both solo and collaborative numbers. Lee Peiling and Priscilla Abby sang a duet for the first time—"Like Sunny Days, Like Rainy Days"—becoming one of the highlights of the show. Priscilla Abby revealed that they had discussed collaborating in the past but had never found a suitable song: "We kept thinking about whether to do a powerhouse song or try different styles, and this time we chose a more relaxed piece." Lee Peiling also shared that before the performance, they discussed plans to collaborate on new songs in the future, leaving fans full of anticipation for what comes next.

During the show, all eight singers paired up for duets. Laila and Hong Chenfeng sang "Rose in the Palm of My Hand"; Xu Kai and Liu Hanjie performed "Sun and Earth"; Jestinna Kuan and Cai Jingxuan performed "Pretty Candy X Easy Easy," with their act incorporating dance elements. At the close of the concert, all the singers joined together on stage to perform the show's theme song, "The Best of Us," drawing the musical night to a close on a familiar melody.

Reflecting on participating in "The Best of Us", Lee Peiling said that every reunion was rare: "Everyone is usually busy with their own lives, but the show always brings us together to share our stories and experiences." She looked back at 2025, saying many things had changed that year; although her attitude was more relaxed, the hectic pace had left her a bit tired. Looking ahead to 2026, she hoped to keep a relaxed pace but also enjoy her work, and have more offline interactions with fans. She admitted that her biggest wish this year is to give back to her fans, hoping to hold meet-and-greet sessions or concerts and to keep releasing new songs.

Priscilla Abby frankly said she really loves connecting musically with different singers: "Everyone's experiences and journeys are different, but music brings us together. I'm very grateful to 'The Best of Us' for giving me the chance to collaborate with different artists." She also mentioned that Malaysia has a lot of musical talents that have yet to reach their full potential: "I hope more people will see Malaysia's creative singers, and I also hope to work with them." She hopes to do even better in 2026, and performed "Wish You Happiness," blessing everyone to find their own happiness in the new year.

Other singers also shared their New Year plans: Xu Kai first joked about working hard to make money, and then said he would release a brand-new album this year, trying out more R&B styles; Liu Hanjie hoped to write more songs and hold a solo concert; Laila jokingly said she’s become braver and wants to try new things, exclaiming: "I’m going to release a Chinese New Year song!" Hong Chenfeng hopes to improve his singing skills and compose more songs; Cai Jingxuan wants to find more suitable ways to keep performing in the new year; Jestinna Kuan quipped that her main wish this year is "to sleep more." She shared that last year her schedule was packed from January to December, and she hopes to spend more time traveling with her husband and getting more rest in 2026, as well as creating a song of her own.
