Known as the princess of rock, Malaysian singer JessC (钟洁希) says singing with Malaysia's diva Fauziah Latiff (法茲雅, Jee) fulfills a dream she has held for many years.
JessC is about to release a new Malay-language album "Dekati" and held a new song launch event on Friday, inviting over a hundred fans to attend. Although "Dekati" hasn't been officially released, the YouTube total view count of the five music videos on the album has already surpassed 6 million, especially causing a stir in Indonesia.
Regarding her first time singing the Malay song "Tak Terpisah" with Fauziah, JessC explained that their collaboration began 10 years ago at a concert where Fauziah was invited as a guest, and their bond through music has continued over the years. "Being able to collaborate with Jee is a dream come true for me. She has always been my idol, and this song conveys the strength to courageously face life’s challenges. I hope everyone can find their own strength from it."
She also revealed that she has loved Malay songs since her childhood and fell deeply in love with Fauziah's music 10 years ago, previously having the opportunity to sing her classic work "Dia." Finally achieving a duet with Fauziah brings her an uncontainable joy. JessC pointed out that they will continue to collaborate in the future, with two new songs currently in progress, one of which is an up-tempo track titled "Kawan Baik."
At the launch, JessC playfully asked Fauziah, "What score would you give my singing?" Fauziah smilingly replied, "You’ve improved a lot, successfully blending our voices." Following her words, JessC also showcased a delicate necklace handcrafted by Fauziah and gifted to her.
