The US news website Axios reported on the 6th, citing a US official, that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard fired at least two missiles at several merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The report said that two merchant ships were hit and severely damaged, but there were no casualties.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Office issued a bulletin on the 7th stating that an oil tanker caught fire after being hit by an “unidentified projectile” in the Gulf of Oman on the 6th. There are currently no reports of casualties or environmental pollution.
