Sarawak Pay Collaborates with PayNet to Offer DuitNow Services

(Kuching, 4th) The Sarawak government's e-wallet application, S PAY GLOBAL (Sarawak Pay), has partnered with Malaysia's Payment Network (PayNet) to launch a new feature that allows users to access DuitNow services.

Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) General Manager,Datuk Anderson Tiong Ing Heng, stated that this latest feature allows S PAY GLOBAL users to scan the DuitNow QR codes used by other e-wallet applications, and vice versa, other e-wallet applications can also scan the S PAY GLOBAL QR codes used by merchants.

He said this initiative aims to improve transaction connectivity and fluidity, especially for the people of Sarawak, who can now enjoy a simpler and more efficient payment experience.

"Since its launch in 2017, S PAY GLOBAL has recorded payment transactions amounting to RM 4.3 billion. A total of RM 118 million worth of transactions have been completed through the application, involving over 780,000 registered users and 92,000 merchants."

He stated this during a press release after paying a courtesy visit to Sarawak's Premier,  Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari.

S PAY GLOBAL has become the main payment application in Sarawak, particularly in rural areas, to make it easier for people to pay for utilities and various daily affairs, in line with Sarawak's Digital Economy Action Plan 2030.

Datuk Anderson Tiong Ing Heng also noted that the collaboration with PayNet is a positive step towards realizing an inclusive and competitive digital economy vision for Sarawak's future.
