KUCHING, June 11: A car was completely destroyed in a fire at Taman Jaya Matang early this morning, but no injuries were reported.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the Proton Saga was already 100 per cent engulfed in flames when firemen from the Petra Jaya fire station arrived at the scene, located about 8km away, at 6.38am.
The emergency call was received at 6.30am, and the blaze was brought under control by 6.45am before operations concluded at 7am.
A total of seven firefighters were deployed with one fire engine and extinguished the fire using two hose lines connected to the engine’s tank water supply.
The department confirmed that no victims were involved, and the operation ended safely after ensuring there was no risk of reignition.
