(Miri, 16th) — Sarawak Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Dato Dripin Raman, stated that the third Sarawak Youth Startup Intensive Program is expected to be held in the Central Region, either Sibu or Mukah, so that more youths can conveniently participate in this key entrepreneurship nurturing program.
In his speech, he hoped that the third edition could be brought to more different regions of Sarawak, so that all young people with potential and dreams would have the opportunity to be discovered, selected, and trained.
He revealed that applications for this session will open on August 23, 2025 and close on October 30. A total of 393 applications were received. After a strict selection process and online interviews held from October 30–31, 150 youths stood out and were selected, including 70 males and 80 females.

“This year, participants demonstrated high creativity and solid execution abilities in their project presentations. Many entrepreneurial ideas were pragmatic and feasible, with strong potential for immediate implementation—fully reflecting the strong competitiveness of Sarawak’s youth in the field of entrepreneurship.”
He added that starting from January 2026, the department will officially launch a long-term tracking program to observe and mentor participants’ entrepreneurial progress over multiple years, to ensure that youth entrepreneurship support work truly takes root and delivers results.
He emphasized that building a youth entrepreneur ecosystem is key to Sarawak’s journey toward becoming a high-income state, and the Youth Startup Intensive Program will continue to serve as one of the core catalytic platforms for driving this goal.
