(Bandar Seri Begawan, 19th) Brunei’s Teng Yun Temple will celebrate the birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha and the birthday of Li Fu Mu Zha Second Prince on May 24th (Sunday).
On that day, the temple will respectfully invite deities and Buddhas at 8:00 AM, and welcome the Jade Emperor, the Three Officials, the Five Emperors, and hold the “Buddha Bathing Ceremony”.
At 9:00 AM, the morning service and sutra chanting as well as the Buddha Bathing Ritual will take place (Morning chanting: Yangzhi Purification Hymn, Great Compassion Mantra nine times, Heart Sutra three times).
From 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the temple will be open for devotees to participate in Buddha bathing and offering prayers for blessings.
At 5:00 PM on the same day, a ritual for the Five Military Marshals and almsgiving to invisible sentient beings will be conducted.
At 8:00 PM, the temple will bid farewell to the Jade Emperor, the Three Officials, and the Five Emperors.
