(Miri, 16th) Under the leadership of Sarawak Minister of Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, the SUPP Senadin Branch mobile service team engaged in exchanges this morning with coffee shop and shop operators, as well as the public, in the Desa Senadin area of Miri.

The team, which included councillors, Kapitan, youth, and women leaders from SUPP Senadin, namely Cr Jeffery Phang Siaw Foong, Cr Toh Kah Shiong, Cr Yap Siew Jin, and Kapitan Chong Ah Muk, took the opportunity to connect with the local community and offer assistance.

Through this initiative, YB Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin and the team engaged directly with the public and stall owners, creating an open space for residents to voice their concerns and provide valuable feedback on various local issues. By reaching out to the community, the team was able to foster a stronger relationship between the public and local authorities, ensuring that residents feel heard and their needs are addressed in a timely manner.

During the session, many residents approached the team to discuss issues related to their residential areas, and the councillors assured them that these matters would be raised with Miri City Council for further action. This proactive approach to solving problems demonstrates the effectiveness of these face-to-face engagements, where concerns can be swiftly identified and followed up.

YB Dato Sri Lee also emphasised the importance of community services, urging residents to continue providing feedback on the services offered by local authorities and government agencies. Such interactions are essential in improving the overall quality of services and ensuring that the needs of the people are met efficiently. He stressed that councillors and Kapitan present at the session are committed and playing an active role to assisting with any issues raised and will work closely with the relevant departments to find solutions.

Additionally, senior citizens took the opportunity to inquire about the Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB) application process. The SUPP Senadin service team was on hand to provide guidance and will assist those interested in applying for the benefits they are entitled to, further highlighting the team’s commitment to serving the community’s diverse needs.

This weekly outreach programme not only addresses immediate concerns but also builds a continuous channel for dialogue between the public and their elected representatives, ensuring that community problems are tackled collectively and efficiently.
