(Miri, 13th) With former president Lin Guotai stating that he would not seek re-election, the Miri Taiwan Alumni Association recently held its 37th (2026-2027) Executive Committee election at its clubhouse. Former vice president Yang Cixiang, unopposed, successfully assumed the new presidency, taking on the important responsibility of leading the association.
The election was chaired by Election Committee member and association advisor Huang Hanqiang, and was completed smoothly in the presence of attending members. Outgoing president Lin Guotai was recommended and promoted to become the association’s advisor, continuing to provide guidance and support for the association’s development.
This term’s executive committee election received 13 nominations, all elected unopposed. After discussion, the vice presidents are Chen Zunren, Huang Yunjing, and Zhang Yuerong; Zhan Hengmin as secretary, Zhang Yuebo as treasurer, Lan Yizhen and Huang Jingming as deputy secretary and deputy treasurer, respectively.

In addition, Huang Yunjing and Lan Yizhen are appointed as head and deputy head of the further studies guidance group, assisting in the promotion of study consultation and related services.
New president Yang Cixiang stated that the association was founded to unite the friendship among Taiwan alumni, promote connections and exchanges among members, and actively organize cultural, educational, and social service activities. The future focus will be to further strengthen association development, deepen cooperation with all sectors, and make greater contributions to alumni and the community.
