A suicide bombing occurred in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on the 11th, resulting in at least 12 deaths and 27 injuries.
Pakistan's Interior Minister, Naqvi, stated to the media at the explosion site that at around 12:39 p.m. local time, a suicide attacker detonated explosives near the District Court Judicial Building in Islamabad, causing casualties. Police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene immediately, and the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
The "Pakistani Taliban" claimed responsibility for the attack.
Preliminary investigations show that the attacker originally intended to enter the judicial building to carry out the attack, but failed due to strict security checks, and subsequently detonated explosives near a police car outside the building. The explosion also caused several vehicles to be damaged and catch fire. Police then evacuated the personnel inside the judicial building and launched a search of the area.
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the attack occurred during a court recess period, when many people were leaving the building, leading to a relatively high number of casualties.
