The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has proposed to promote the deployment of large artificial intelligence (AI) models in key manufacturing industries to transform production management models.
According to a report by China News Agency, a journalist learned on the 4th from the MIIT that Minister Li Lecheng of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology hosted a meeting to discuss strategies and measures for promoting the development of the artificial intelligence industry and empowering new industrialization.
The meeting proposed to integrally advance the implementation of tasks related to strategy, planning, policy, and standards. It is necessary to solidify the industrial foundation, strengthen computing capacity supply, and coordinate the layout of general large models and industry-specific large models. Emphasis should be placed on software and hardware adaptation, accelerating the establishment of high-quality industry datasets, and enhancing the intelligence level of key products and equipment.
The meeting emphasized creating application advantages. It advocated for the deployment of large models in key manufacturing industries, accelerating the refinement of application scenario requirements, and speeding up the full-process intelligent upgrading of manufacturing, transforming production management models. A group of AI-enabled application service providers should be nurtured to accelerate the deployment and iterative upgrade of industry-specific large models.
The meeting also proposed strengthening standards leadership, advancing the standard work of artificial intelligence in a systematic and categorized manner; expanding the industrial ecosystem, supporting the specialized and innovative development of AI small and medium-sized enterprises, accelerating the construction of high-level AI open-source communities, increasing support through financial and tax policies, and guiding social capital to increase investment; coordinating development and safety, advancing deep synthesis detection technology research, and accelerating the formulation of AI technology ethics management service methods.
