According to Sing Tao Daily, the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference opened in Beijing on the 25th. This year’s forum features a strong focus on “Technology-Driven Events,” integrating the latest technological achievements into the entire forum experience. The 'Robot Café Bar,' jointly built by multiple robot brands, attracted a large number of guests to watch.
Onsite, a Sing Tao Daily reporter tried it firsthand: after scanning a QR code to order a 'latte + sugared fire cake,' a robot quickly started making coffee and picking out snacks, while another robot served as a runner to deliver the order. The whole process took only 3 minutes, without any manual intervention, fully showcasing the sense of technology. An experienced attendee commented with a smile, “Last year these robots worked individually, but this year they’re starting to work in tandem.”
The live robot singing and dancing performance was equally captivating. When a robot from the Beijing tech company “Lingxin Qiaoshou” pressed the piano keys, the melody of “Beijing Welcomes You” started to play. Meanwhile, a robot from another tech firm, “Galaxy General,” danced along, and robots holding hulusi, suona, pinggu and other instruments performed an ensemble in perfect harmony.
● AI ‘Interpreter’ Upgraded to 8 Languages
This year’s forum also saw an upgrade in translation services. The AI “interpreter” has significantly improved in response speed and translation accuracy, expanding from two languages (Chinese and English) to eight. Inside the venue, the Liangliang Shiye AR translation glasses attracted many guests to try them on. They weigh only 49 grams, but can provide real-time translation in over 100 languages and dialects.
The theme of this year’s forum is “Deep Integration of Technological Innovation and Industrial Innovation.” In his speech, State Council Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang remarked that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, efforts will be accelerated to achieve high-level scientific and technological self-reliance, supporting the building of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Science and Technology Innovation Center into a major global scientific, talent, and innovation hub.
