Michael Wong returned to Merdeka Stadium after 7 years, holding two consecutive nights of the 'Won't Be Apart – Tonight I’m Not Alone 3.0' 2025 Kuala Lumpur concerts. The first show kicked off on the evening of the 18th. Greeted loudly in his familiar Malaysian accent—"I'm back liao!"—he welcomed the 20,000-strong audience and joked, 'Since we're here!', cleverly quoting the trending internet meme by Sister Hong, which sent the crowd into fits of laughter.

Michael Wong quoted an internet meme live on stage, sending the audience into laughter and resonating with them with his down-to-earth charm.Wong even changed the concert's theme from 'Tonight I'm Not Alone' to 'Tonight I’m Not Going Home.' The show ran from Friday night all the way through to the early hours of Saturday, turning into a special 'overnight event.' Overjoyed to be back performing at his hometown venue, he couldn't resist the passion of his fans, delivering 2 extra songs during a heated Encore—the only Encore session across this tour. He even promised on the spot: 'Next time, we'll pick an even bigger venue and sing till the end!'

Fans refused to leave, Michael Wong delighted them by adding performances of 'If You Still Love Me' + 'Hold Your Hand', prompting all 20,000 in the audience to shout: Worth every penny! To coincide with prayer times, the concert only began at 9:05pm. Wong joked, 'This is the latest concert start I've ever had!' He admitted that the promise he made at Merdeka Stadium 7 years ago had always stayed with him, and he finally fulfilled it, returning to the same stage to hold an encore concert. Knowing some fans had to catch the last train home, he gently encouraged: 'Let's forget about the time and really reminisce about our youth.'

Wong encouraged fans to take lots of photos and videos to share, but playfully reminded: 'Don’t make the videos too long, let those who missed out say, Damn, it looked awesome!'All night long, he interacted with the audience using his familiar Malaysian accent: 'I'm back liao, finally can speak like this liao.' He asked if anyone came just for a single song, and then teased, 'Even if you came with friends, it counts.' He also threw in the trending internet meme: 'Anyway, since we're here, let's just enjoy!' The crowd burst into laughter, and even he joked, 'You're all laughing so hard I forgot what to say. So why not relive our youth for a night—let's not go home tonight!'

During the concert, Wong performed a string of classic hits, including 'The First Time', 'Miss You', 'Promise', 'Fairy Tale', as well as a medley of crowd favorites from the 'Michael Wong & Victor Wong' era, such as 'Topic', 'On Purpose', 'Oversensitive', 'Every Time I Call You', 'Have You Changed?', 'Everyone Says We'll Break Up', 'Wild Imagination', 'In the Palm', and more, sparking multiple sing-along climaxes. He also covered Fish Leong’s 'Courage', which he originally wrote, transporting the audience back to the youthful years of two decades ago.

Wong's homecoming concert lasted over three hours!
Chose to sing Chang Yu-sheng’s 'Thinking of You Every Day'

In this tour, Wong covers a song with great personal significance at every stop. At the Kuala Lumpur show, he specially chose the late Taiwanese musician Chang Yu-sheng's 'Thinking of You Every Day', a song that accompanied him through homesickness and moved many in the audience.

During the show, a wardrobe malfunction occurred, but Wong handled the awkwardness with wit, and even joked around with a 'switch game', to the delight of everyone.
While performing 'Pseudo-Lover', the silver short-sleeved shirt Wong wore suddenly burst open at the stomach area. Laughing, he cried out, 'Oh no, this part is so ugly, what do I do about it? How should I fix this?' Fans in the audience started chanting 'Take it off!' He quickly responded, 'Can't take it off, I'm not wearing anything underneath!' sending the crowd into laughter.

Although his stylist rushed up to fix it, the shirt burst open again mid-way through 'Sad Subway'. Wong simply laughed at himself, turning it into a live 'switch game'—pulling the shirt open and closed while performing and 'offering some benefits' by briefly showing his abs, keeping the laughter going.

The song request segment was full of sincerity: Wong opened up requests to four sections of the audience, and performed 'Unfinished Love', 'Back to Being Alone', 'Fireworks', and 'As If Nothing', fulfilling fan wishes. His interaction with fans was also packed with hilarious moments, making for a carefree, fun atmosphere.

Surprises during the song request segment: witty banter between Wong and the audience, and a bold confession from a '30-year super fan' had him exclaiming: 'Don’t mess around!'
Receives a Love Confession from a Male Fan

One super fan, who claimed to be a supporter for 30 years, became the focus of the stadium. Grabbing the mic, he instantly shouted, 'Husband, I love you,' then added, 'Since we're here!' triggering endless laughter. He then suddenly invited, 'Just now one person kissed, now let’s have everyone over here kiss together!' startlement Wong, who quickly waved his hand and said, 'Hold on, hold on, don’t mess things up! What if this ends up in the news tomorrow? This is Malaysia, don’t get me banned from future concerts!'

Learning the group included several people, Wong probed, 'Are you all guys?' The fan replied, 'No, we’re couples—more than 10 pairs, all normal.' Wong responded in a strong Malaysian accent, 'I didn't say not normal, you’re the one who said not normal, okay! There’s no such thing as normal or not normal—depends on where you are. Right now, you’re in Malaysia, OK?' Their hilarious exchange had the whole stadium laughing!

Back at his hometown, Wong was clearly in high spirits. After his finale song 'Fairy Tale', he originally planned to wrap up, but the fans’ enthusiasm showed no signs of waning. With encore chants ringing out, Wong couldn’t help but say: 'Well, Malaysia is a bit different, lah!' He then performed 'If You Still Love Me' and 'Hold Your Hand,' even stepping off stage to shake hands with fans.

When he noticed his parents missing from their front-row seats, he anxiously asked, 'My family was sitting here just now—where did you push my mom and dad to? They’re old already!' Finally, he gave a warm promise: 'Next time, we’ll pick an even bigger venue, sing all night long, and keep singing for you all!'
