An American tour bus carrying 54 people was returning to New York City from Niagara Falls on the 22nd when it crashed at noon on Interstate 90 in New York State, resulting in 5 deaths and more than 40 injuries. The passengers were mainly from China, India, and the Philippines.
New York State police revealed that the bus driver was distracted at the time and sharply turned the steering wheel after losing control, causing the bus to overturn on the right shoulder. Several people were thrown out of the vehicle, and five adults died at the scene.
Police stated that the passengers ranged in age from 1 to 74 years old. Dozens were taken to hospital, but none of the injured are in life-threatening condition.
