Another Artist Lured to Thailand for Filming Goes Missing, Similar to Wang Xing's Experience 'All Lured by This Person to Become Piglets'

Chinese male actor Wang Xing was previously revealed to have been tricked into going to Thailand for filming, only to end up being taken to Myawaddy in Myanmar, where his hair was forcibly shaved after becoming a "piglet." Fortunately, he was eventually rescued. However, it has been reported that other people, such as lighting technicians and male models, were also deceived into going to the Thai-Myanmar border by the same person, known as "Yan Sixteen." This person has now been exposed.

After Wang Xing was rescued from the park in Myanmar, it was again reported that a Chinese male model was also tricked into going, along with a dozen others including lighting technicians. The 25-year-old male model Yang Zeqi's cousin posted on Weibo, pointing out that "my cousin Yang Zeqi went missing while going to a film set in Thailand, similar to the actor Xing Xing’s incident. At 14:00 Beijing time on December 20th, 2024, Yang Zeqi went missing at the Thai-Myanmar border. After seeing detailed reports on Xing Xing's incident, we found the cases to be extremely similar. Now, we have no choice but to speak up online to seek help, hoping to contact Xing Xing's family for joint efforts to rescue our relatives."

According to Jiemian News, a Chinese netizen stated on the 8th that his cousin Yang Zeqi, a model born in the '00s (2000-2009), saw a message in a WeChat group in December last year recruiting actors for a "Thai crime thriller," and he immediately signed up and passed the audition. On the morning of December 20th, he boarded a flight to Bangkok, Thailand, and took two rides arranged by the "film crew," but the location turned out to be the Thai-Myanmar border.

On December 21st, 2024, Yang Zeqi sent out a distress message to a friend, then his phone went offline, and he went missing. His friend immediately contacted his family and called the police. Eight days later, Yang Zeqi video-called his mother to "report safety," but there were obvious scars near his eyes, and his overall status was unusual. Then the phone went offline again, and he remains missing.
Yang Zeqi sent a distress call to a friend, now revealed by his cousin, hoping to help rescue him.
Reports indicate that a 21-year-old lighting technician named Xiao Sun, working at Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang, got introduced to an agent nicknamed "Yan Sixteen" through a middleman in November 2024. "Yan Sixteen" told Xiao Sun to go to Thailand for a film and offered a salary. Xiao Sun flew to Bangkok on the night of December 11th and has been missing since.

According to reports, the person who invited Wang Xing to Thailand for filming is the same person who called himself "Yan Sixteen" from Thailand's GMM Grammy Company. Chat records released by missing model Yang Zeqi's family show that the team that invited Yang Zeqi for filming in Thailand also claimed to be affiliated with Thailand's GMM Grammy Company and Zhejiang Yanshi Tianyi Film Company.

A Chinese actor who was once tricked into going to Thailand for filming but saw through the scam and returned to China stated that several WeChat groups he is part of recently issued reminders for actors to carefully scrutinize recruitment information from production teams and be wary of filming abroad. The scammers are very knowledgeable about the film industry and appear very professional, making the deception highly convincing.

This actor pointed out that many members in the actor part-time groups are unemployed individuals who are always on the lookout for part-time and daily paid work opportunities in the groups, making them easy targets for scams.
