U.S. President Trump said on Wednesday that all U.S. ships, aircraft, and military personnel will continue to be stationed inside Iran and surrounding areas until Iran fully complies with the ceasefire agreement.
On the 8th, Trump posted on his own social media platform, Truth Social, saying: “All U.S. ships, aircraft, and military personnel, along with additional ammunition and weapons, as well as any other appropriate and necessary equipment required to deliver deadly blows and destruction to an already greatly weakened enemy, will continue to be stationed inside Iran and surrounding areas until the agreed-upon deal is fully observed.”
He emphasized: “Should there be failure to comply for any reason—although the possibility is very slim—the conflict will rekindle, and it will be larger, stronger, and fiercer than anyone has ever seen before.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump had posted on social media saying that The New York Times and CNN respectively reported a "completely false 10-point clause" about the Iran ceasefire negotiations, "intended to slander those participating in the peace process. These 10 points are purely fabricated hoaxes."
The New York Times on Wednesday reported that the 10 clauses put forward by Iran include ending wars on all fronts in the region and withdrawing all U.S. combat troops from all bases and deployment points in the region.
Speaking in a telephone interview with PBS News on Wednesday, Trump said Lebanon was not included in the two-week U.S.-Iran ceasefire.
U.S. Vice President Vance also said on Wednesday that Iran thought the ceasefire agreement included Lebanon, but the U.S. has never made such a commitment.
