Chinese President Xi Jinping held a small-scale meeting with U.S. President Trump at Zhongnanhai on the 15th.
Zhongnanhai, located to the west of Beijing's Forbidden City, is the main residence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and also serves as the office location for the central government and the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
Former U.S. President Obama was invited to meet at Zhongnanhai in 2014, where he took a walk and had dinner with Xi Jinping.
According to CNN, on the morning of the 15th, Trump had a schedule packed with events, starting with an “executive time” meeting at 8 a.m., which was closed to the public. At 10:55 a.m., he was scheduled to take a walk and photos with Xi Jinping in the Zhongnanhai gardens. At 11:05 a.m., the two would hold a tea meeting. Then, at 11:40 a.m., the two would have a working luncheon. After lunch, Trump would depart for home.
