On the evening of the 25th, Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a video address that he looks forward to 'continuing positive cooperation' with U.S. President Trump, while also emphasizing that Ukraine 'will do everything possible to ensure the self-defense capabilities of its army and people.'
Zelensky said that together with the Ukrainian negotiation team, he reviewed the document jointly drafted by the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva, Switzerland in recent days, namely the revised Russia-Ukraine peace proposal.
He stated that the core content of this document can be further expanded into a more in-depth and specific agreement.
Speaking of the U.S. proposed peace plan to end the Ukraine crisis, Zelensky pointed out that 'ensuring genuine security is our common interest,' and that developments largely depend on the United States. Ukraine is working together with the U.S. and other parties capable of assisting, in order to find 'practical and effective measures' to 'end this war.'
Meanwhile, Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office and head of the Ukrainian negotiation delegation, stated in an exclusive interview with U.S. media that in order to promote an agreement, Zelensky hopes to meet with Trump as soon as possible, possibly on the U.S. Thanksgiving Day, i.e., the 27th.
This is also the deadline Trump set last week for Ukraine to accept the 28-point new plan proposed by the U.S.
