(Kuching, 3rd) The Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Danielle Heineke, revealed that Australia has signed an energy storage cooperation agreement with Sarawak.
She stated that the purpose of this cooperation is to meet Sarawak's future energy needs.
“We have just signed a cooperation agreement regarding energy storage to help Sarawak assess its future energy needs and explore the use of energy storage technologies to implement its energy planning.”
She mentioned this during an interview with reporters after paying a visit to the Premier Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, at the State Building today.
She also added that Australia is interested in attracting more investors to Sarawak, including investors from Australia.
“We hope to attract more investors to Sarawak. Indeed, there are already some Australian investors considering Sarawak, especially in the energy and mining sectors.”
Attending the meeting were also the State Secretary of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar, the Deputy Minister of Utilities and Communications, Datuk Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Director of the Sarawak Branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fanny, and the CEO of Sarawak Energy Group, Datuk Sharbini Suhaili.
