Large Amount of Smuggled Alcohol Seized in Tutong: Police Intercept 120 Bottles and 600 Cans

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Bangar Police Station recently carried out a check and crime prevention operation in the area of Kampung Labu, Tutong District.
During the operation, police discovered a suspicious vehicle and attempted to intercept it. The vehicle refused to stop, but was eventually successfully stopped in the Serambigar Industrial Area. However, the driver managed to flee.
Upon inspection, police found several plastic boxes suspected of containing contraband inside the vehicle, holding 120 bottles and 600 cans of various brands of alcohol. All evidence has been seized and turned over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED) for further investigation.
The Royal Brunei Police Force will continue to strengthen law enforcement, combat smuggling activities, and criminal acts related to contraband. For any individuals in violation of national law, the police will continue to take stringent measures. At the same time, police call on the public to continue cooperating with them by providing any information regarding illegal activities, in order to ensure the nation’s security, peace, and prosperity.
