According to United News Network, the Railway Police Bureau recently received a report that Lin Chi-ling illegally released sky lanterns in the area. The reporter also provided a photo that her husband AKIRA (Ryohei Kurosawa) posted on Weibo, showing the family of three releasing a sky lantern. In the photo, Lin Chi-ling and AKIRA are each holding one end of the lantern, standing on either side of the railway tracks, and the lantern is inscribed with words such as “happiness and fulfillment, spiritual abundance,” and “peace.”
According to Taiwanese law, people releasing sky lanterns in New Taipei's Pingxi District are only allowed to do so in designated areas, and from 10 PM to 6 AM the next day it is prohibited entirely. Violators may be fined up to 3,000 New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 377 ringgit) according to the “Fire Services Act.”
