JessC Zhong Jiexi’s “Chinese Melody Like a Dream Concert” Wins Fans’ Applause with Five Languages Showcasing Eastern Art

(Kuala Lumpur, 16th) American Golden Melody Award-winning singer, Future Global Entertainment Australia artist, and Universal Music International artist JessC (Zhong Jiexi) passionately presents the “JessC Chinese Melody Like a Dream Concert”.

The “Chinese Music Orchestra”, comprised of more than 24 Chinese music instrumentalists and a harmony team, performed live throughout, jointly creating with JessC a healing music feast that fused Chinese music, pop music, and cross-cultural artistic elements.

The entire concert lasted over two and a half hours, with 18 songs performed in five languages, bringing the audience a healing journey filled with laughter, emotion, and artistic atmosphere.

The concert opened with a relaxing and humorous manzai (comic dialogue) performance. The actors' witty exchanges and tight rhythm brought out laugh after laugh from the audience, who quickly got into the mood. Bursts of laughter and applause filled the theater, with some audience members laughing until they leaned back in their seats. Originally strangers to each other, the audience were drawn closer by the shared laughter, laying a joyful tone for the musical performances to follow.

Subsequently, JessC officially took the stage, performing 15 pieces in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Malay, and Japanese, showcasing her mastery of different cultures and musical styles. Mandarin songs included “Thinking of You”, “Return”, “In My Heart”, “Night Jasmine”, “I Am Myself”, etc.; Cantonese songs “Encounter” and “Spring Dream of Beijing”; Malay song “Demi Impian”; English songs “And I Love You So” and “One Chance”; and Japanese songs “Koibito” and “Kokoro no Tomo” (Lover's Practice Partner). Of particular note, “Night Jasmine” was given a surprise new rendition incorporating Japanese elements, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

In the healing music segment, JessC performed singing and playing electronic keyboard, bringing the live atmosphere to a deeper level. The songs, arranged in a simple and pure manner, were even more delicate and touching. As the stage lighting dimmed and focused, the whole audience listened quietly, immersing themselves in the emotions conveyed by the music and lyrics. Every time a song ended, prolonged applause resounded, with many audience members deeply moved by the music.

Another highlight of the evening was the special appearance and singing by leading male actors from Xingyinfu Theatre Group. De Wen and Chen Yongshan shared the stage to perform “Moonlight”; Li Antian and Xie Zhexin sang “Promise Me”, the theme interlude from the play “Butterfly Lovers”; Li Tingjian and Liang Kaiheng delivered a powerful “Freedom”. Whenever each actor appeared, the audience erupted in cheers and applause, with screams pushing the theater atmosphere to new heights and also allowing the audience to see another side of these stage actors’ singing talents.

It’s worth mentioning that before performing the Japanese song “Kokoro no Tomo,” JessC revealed that this audience favorite is planned for formal release in Japan in the future. As soon as the announcement was made, it drew enthusiastic support and applause, heightening anticipation for the song’s upcoming development.

As the performance approached its end, the audience’s enthusiasm did not wane, with chants of “encore” resounding throughout. Amidst continuous applause and cheers, JessC returned to the stage, performing “Night Jasmine”, “My Heart Only Has You and No Her”, and “I Am Myself” for her encores. The entire audience sang along, clapping and cheering so that the theater became a grand musical party at its peak.
 
The accompanying “Chinese Melody Orchestra” previously participated in the “Exceptional Beauty” Chinese music concert. After numerous collaborations, they have developed a deep rapport with JessC. Music producer Li Ansheng specially rearranged several songs, ingeniously integrating traditional Chinese instruments such as erhu, flute, pipa, and yangqin with modern pop music. This gave classic works a refreshing new look and allowed the audience to experience the limitless possibilities of Chinese music art.
 
In recent years, JessC has continued to achieve remarkable results on the international music scene, successively winning the “Best Asian Golden Melody” at the US ICMA International Music Awards, the LIT International Music Award, and the World Songwriting Awards, among other international honors. By the end of 2025, she had also been selected by Rolling Stone UK as one of the “New Artists to Watch”, becoming one of the first Asian artists to make the shortlist and affirming her unique musical vision and cross-cultural creativity.
