(Johor Bahru, 24th) – A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Segamat, Johor this morning.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a statement earlier stating that the earthquake took place at 6:13 a.m. on Sunday (24th), with the epicenter at latitude 2.5°N, longitude 102.8°E, at a depth of 10 kilometers, located 5 kilometers west of Segamat.
“Residents in several areas across Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and southern Pahang could feel the tremors.”
Meteorological Department Director-General Mohd Hisham emphasized that they will continue to closely monitor the situation.
