(Singapore, 22nd) – Dr. Estephan Salameh, Minister of Finance and Planning of the Palestinian National Authority, is visiting Singapore for four days starting today until February 25.
The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Sunday (February 22), saying that Salameh is here on an official visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that this visit reaffirms the good relations between Singapore and the Palestinian Authority, as well as Singapore’s continued support for the Palestinian Authority’s capacity building.
During his visit to Singapore, Salameh will be hosted at separate dinners by Dr. Balakrishnan and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Social and Family Development, Alvin Tan.
He will also meet with Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs, Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim, as well as Minister of State for Communications and Information and Health, Rahayu Mahzam.
In addition, Salameh will visit the Institute of Technical Education to learn about Singapore’s policies on education and digital development.
Last November, Dr. Balakrishnan visited the Palestinian territories, where he met with Prime Minister Mustafa, Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, and Salameh, expressing his hope that the three would visit Singapore soon.
