In Southern California, a small plane crashed onto the roof of a furniture warehouse on Thursday, causing at least 2 deaths and 18 injuries. The plane exploded after the crash, igniting a fire, and over 100 employees who were working in the warehouse at the time were evacuated urgently.
Over a hundred people evacuated urgently
The incident occurred around 2:09 PM, when a single-engine Van’s Aircraft RV-10 crashed into the roof of a warehouse at the Michael Nicholas Design Factory, a furniture manufacturing company in Fullerton. Fullerton police spokesman Wells stated that after receiving the report, a large number of firefighters were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire and evacuate hundreds of people from surrounding businesses.
Warehouse roof has a big hole
Media captured footage after the incident, revealing a large hole in the warehouse roof with a substantial amount of black smoke billowing out.
In addition to the 2 deaths, 18 people were injured, 10 of whom were taken to the hospital, while 8 were treated and discharged.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the involved aircraft was a 4-seater plane.
Fullerton is located in Orange County, California, approximately 40 kilometers southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
