Golden Melody Award singer JJ Lin was set to perform at the Taipei Arena for the first time on June 7 and 8, becoming the third artist after Jay Chou and A-Mei to hold a concert at this venue. This tour marks the milestone of JJ Lin's 20th anniversary in his music career. Unexpectedly, on the 6th, a netizen on Threads accused JJ of interfering in the relationship with his ex-girlfriend. JJ Lin's management company responded late at night.
The netizen posted an exposé, "Yesterday, my good friend told me something incredible, it turns out that @jjlin JJ Lin would have specific people procure services; while I was with my ex-girlfriend, I was unknowingly given a large green hat (meaning being cheated on), and it turns out my girlfriend was on that list too. I really don't know why you, a well-behaved flight attendant, would choose to do this. My friend showed me your video, and that's when I found out you treacherously did this behind my back," boldly tagging JJ Lin's Threads account, and in the post, issued a "non-suicide declaration," openly challenging JJ and causing a stir among netizens.
Some netizens pointed out that the whistleblower used a secondary account, questioning the credibility of the accusations, while others suggested that the issue lay with the whistleblower. The whistleblower posted again, harshly criticizing "JJ Lin is just a third party" and "She was already in the trade, that's a fact, but I didn't hide or whitewash it," explaining the use of a secondary account was to avoid family seeing it. He claimed that JJ subsequently invited his ex-girlfriend out multiple times and said he held leaked footage, inviting media to contact him for it, declaring "Even if there's a lawsuit, I'm not afraid."
In response, JJ Lin’s management company told Apple Daily News: "In the era of online self-media, it's convenient to post, and we cannot speculate the motives of individual posters. We can only continue to focus on providing better works and performances for fans. If anyone possesses any illegal evidence, please do report it to the relevant authorities. If not, we earnestly appeal to media friends not to believe or spread rumors, and to jointly maintain a civilized and clear online environment."
