Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar said that Indonesia has expressed its commitment to assist and cooperate with Malaysia as it assumes the ASEAN Chairmanship this year.
He stated that during a closed-door meeting at a luncheon today (9th) with Indonesian President Prabowo, the latter mentioned this matter.
"Prabowo is making an official visit on January 27th, but he wanted to come (today) because we are old friends and we need to have a frank discussion."

Anwar said that during this informal meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, especially in strengthening trade relations, investments, border cooperation, and some raised issues.
"This meeting will surely have more informal discussions. We both believe more work is needed to improve trade relations, investments, border cooperation, and resolve some raised issues."
Earlier, Anwar and Prabowo arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Hibiscus Building at 1:10 p.m. in a car.
Before boarding his private jet at 1:20 p.m., Prabowo inspected the guard of honor formed by 28 members of the First Battalion Royal Rangers (Ceremonial Unit).
