(Bandar Seri Begawan, 16th Jan) The Chinese Ambassador to Brunei, Xiao Jianguo, recently met with the delegation led by Li Wanzhi, Assistant Director of the Community Relations Department of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Ambassador Xiao positively assessed the cooperation between the Hong Kong ICAC and its Brunei counterparts in recent years in the fields of integrity building and anti-corruption. He expressed his hope that both sides would further enhance communication, elevate the level of cooperation, and continuously enrich the practical relations between China and Brunei.
Li Wanzhi expressed gratitude for the long-term support and assistance from the embassy, stating a willingness to make the most of this exchange opportunity to further deepen cooperation with Brunei in areas such as law enforcement, education, and corruption prevention, contributing to the relationship between China and Brunei as well as Hong Kong and Brunei.
Previously, the Hong Kong ICAC and the Brunei Anti-Corruption Bureau jointly organized a training course in Brunei themed “Meaningful Youth Participation in Anti-Corruption Work,” aiming to promote youth involvement in anti-corruption endeavors, with approximately 150 participants.
