Li Tao, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, has resigned as Vice Governor of Henan Province.
According to China News Service, at the 25th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th People's Congress of Henan Province held on Saturday (August 1), a list of appointments and removals was approved, with the decision to remove Li Tao from his position as Vice Governor of the People's Government of Henan Province.
Earlier, according to a report by Henan Daily on June 18, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had approved Li Tao's appointment as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee. According to the “Henan Organs Party Building” website, sponsored by the Henan Provincial Committee of CPC Organs Working Committee, Li Tao serves as Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary-General, and Secretary of the Provincial Committee Organs Working Committee.
Li Tao was born in May 1970 in Dengzhou, Henan. He has a bachelor's degree in microelectronics technology from Zhengzhou University. He started working in July 1993, and joined the Communist Party of China in May 1996.
Li Tao has previously served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Henan Provincial Government, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Henan Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), and Secretary and Director of the SASAC Party Committee. In April 2025, he was appointed Vice Governor of Henan Province while continuing to serve as Secretary of the SASAC Party Committee. In June this year, he was appointed as Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary-General, and Secretary of the Provincial Committee Organs Working Committee.
