US President Trump said on the 6th that resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict will be 'much quicker than people think.'
He stated that Russian President Putin wishes to end this conflict, and his desire is 'very strong.' Ukrainian President Zelensky 'also actually wants to end this conflict right now.'
He said: 'We will discuss this during the NATO summit. I believe we will bring it (the Russia-Ukraine conflict) to an end.'
Russia Will Maintain Contact with the US on the Ukraine Issue
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov said on the 6th that although the United States is increasingly deviating from the agreements reached with Russia on the Ukraine issue, Russia will not cut off contact with the US side on this issue.
He responded to Trump's comments by saying that if the US is ready to act based on the proposals put forward by Russia to the US, the conflict could indeed be resolved quickly.
He pointed out that the recent words and actions of US officials indicate that they tend to abandon resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through peaceful negotiations and seeking compromises. Countries opposed to a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict are trying to take advantage of this, while NATO and EU leaders are attempting to court the United States, which is further exacerbating the tension of the conflict.
