Due to the combined impact of typhoons 'Dolphin', 'Whale', and an intensified southwest monsoon, many regions in the Philippines have experienced days of heavy rainfall, leading to floods, landslides, and other disasters, resulting in 16 deaths and 9 missing persons.
According to a report by the Philippine Office of Civil Defense on the same day, this round of extreme weather has affected approximately 1.31 million people nationwide, with about 58,000 of them having been relocated to temporary shelters.
The Philippine Disaster Reduction Committee stated that a total of 33 provinces across the country have been affected, with Benguet Province suffering particularly severe damage, where seven people have died due to landslides.
The committee further noted that the severe weather has damaged 306 houses to varying degrees nationwide, and 323 pieces of infrastructure have also been affected.
In addition, due to extreme weather, 65 towns across the Philippines have suffered power outages, 4 towns have experienced water supply interruptions, 426 towns have been forced to halt work, and 556 towns have suspended classes.
