(Sibu, 2nd) Two factories located at Lorong Teng Kung Suk 5 in Sibu were completely destroyed by a fire that broke out in the early hours of today.
Andy Ali, Director of Zone 4 of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sibu, stated that after receiving an emergency call at 2:30 a.m., 26 firefighters from three fire stations were immediately dispatched to the scene.
"The fire affected a timber factory and a second-hand goods factory, covering an area of about 1,065 feet by 850 feet. Both factories were completely destroyed by the fire," he said.
Currently, there are no reports of casualties or missing persons.
The cause of the fire and the amount of losses are still under investigation.
