Jolin Tsai Suing Haters for Defamation Over Cult Allegations at Concert

Published at Jan 08, 2026 11:06 am
Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai kicked off her Pleasure World Tour with three consecutive days of concerts at the Taipei Dome from the end of last year to New Year’s Day. The total stage production cost reached NT$900 million (about RM110 million), featuring giant props such as pythons, golden pigs, and Pegasus, which left fans in awe. Unexpectedly, some people maliciously spread rumors that the concert had a cult-like atmosphere, likening it to an Illuminati sacrifice ritual. In response, the usually even-tempered Jolin Tsai finally could not tolerate it anymore. On the 7th, her official Weibo released a lawyer’s statement, publicly revealing the accounts responsible for the rumors and announcing a lawsuit.

A Chinese video creator under the account name “Siliya” recently posted a video analyzing Jolin Tsai’s Pleasure concert, questioning whether there were satanic symbols on site, claiming the atmosphere was like a cult, and even speculating that Jolin Tsai might be connected with the Illuminati. This series of defamatory statements drew the attention of Jolin Tsai’s team.

The official Weibo for Jolin Tsai’s Pleasure Tour has now formally issued a statement, announcing plans to sue Siliya and other accounts that have spread false rumors. The statement points out that these malicious speculations, out-of-context clips, and misleading interpretations contain a large amount of false information and insulting remarks, which have seriously damaged Jolin Tsai’s reputation and legal rights. Therefore, they have collected evidence and have notified social media platforms to delete all infringing content: "Our company has initiated legal proceedings and will resolutely hold them legally accountable, showing zero tolerance."
