The Chinese People Made Great Contributions to Safeguarding World Peace With Enormous National Sacrifice

On the 3rd, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was an important part of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese people, through enormous national sacrifice, made significant contributions to saving human civilization and safeguarding world peace.

He made these remarks while delivering a speech at the conference commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

He stated that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was a great and arduous war. Under the banner of the anti-Japanese national united front formed under the advocacy of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people stood firm and fought against powerful enemies, building a Great Wall of flesh and blood, and achieved the first complete victory against foreign invaders in China's modern history.

He said that history warns people that the destinies of humanity are closely linked. Only by treating each other equally, living in harmony, and helping each other can countries and nations safeguard common security and eliminate the root causes of war, so that the tragedies of history do not repeat themselves!

He pointed out that the Chinese nation is a great people who do not fear force and are self-reliant and strong. In those years, facing the life-and-death struggle between justice and evil, light and darkness, progress and reaction, the Chinese people stood united in opposition, rising up to resist, fighting for national survival, national rejuvenation, and for human justice. Today, humanity again faces choices between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win cooperation or zero-sum games. The Chinese people firmly stand on the right side of history, on the side of human civilization and progress, unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development, and work hand-in-hand with people of all countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

He said that the Chinese People's Liberation Army has always been a heroic force that the Party and the people can fully trust. All officers and soldiers of the PLA must faithfully fulfill their sacred duties, accelerate the building of a world-class military, firmly safeguard national sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, provide strategic support for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and contribute even more to world peace and development!

He pointed out that history carries the past and enlightens the future. In the new era and on the new journey, the people of all ethnic groups across China must, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, uphold Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of "Three Represents", the Scientific Outlook on Development, fully implement the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, steadfastly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, inherit and promote the great spirit of the War of Resistance, work diligently and forge ahead bravely, and unite and strive to fully promote national development and the great undertaking of national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization!

He said, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable! The lofty cause of peace and development for humanity is bound to prevail!
