(Sungai Liang, 18th) The Brunei Royal Police Force personnel from the Kuala Belait Police District raided a wooden hut in Lumut and arrested 13 foreign men suspected of participating in illegal gambling activities.
During the operation, the police successfully apprehended 4 Bangladeshi citizens and 9 Indian citizens. Additionally, the police confiscated several items suspected to be used for gambling activities, including dice, gambling cloths, and cash totaling BND 5,237. These items are suspected to be associated with a type of gambling activity known as "katam-katam."
All suspects and confiscated items were taken to the Sungai Liang Police Station for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Sections 4 and 6 of the Common Gaming Houses Act (Chapter 28), which relate to operating and participating in gambling activities.
The police advise the public to stay away from any form of gambling activities and remind individuals involved in illegal activities in the country that strict action will be taken against them.
