(Miri, 25th) The Miri School Volleyball League grandly opened, attracting 13 secondary schools from Miri to compete, featuring 15 teams in the boys' category and 10 teams in the girls' category.
This event is organized by Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang and co-organized by Riam Road Secondary School, lasting for three days, with the competition taking place at Riam Road Secondary School's indoor and outdoor volleyball courts. The schedule of the Miri School Volleyball League is tight, and teams are fiercely competing for the championship honor.
Riam Road Secondary School's volleyball coach, Lee Shihao, stated that this competition is not only a test of skills but also a valuable learning opportunity. He encouraged participants to give their all, enjoy the process, and hone their skills and teamwork spirit, obtaining valuable experiences regardless of winning or losing.
He hopes that through such competitions, more students will develop an interest in volleyball and contribute to the development of volleyball in Miri.
Principal of Riam Road Secondary School,Kong Pei Chuen , emphasized that the school has always valued physical education, encouraging students to balance academics and sports.
"Riam Road Secondary School focuses not only on academic development but also actively promotes sports activities. Apart from volleyball, our students have also achieved excellent results in athletics, table tennis, basketball, and other sports. Last year, our volleyball player Zhang Yuen was successfully selected for the Sukma national competition, affirming both their efforts and the school's sports development."
She expressed that being able to co-host this Miri School Volleyball League is not only a recognition of Riam's sports facilities but also an effort to provide a higher-quality competition environment for participants to fully showcase their abilities.
