(Bandar Seri Begawan 19th Jan) The Wen Zhong Alumni Association held the 2025 Yi Si Year of the Snake Spring Festival Calligraphy Competition today on the second floor of the association’s venue, attracting many calligraphy enthusiasts and people from various sectors.

This competition not only became an important cultural event for the Spring Festival but also further enhanced interaction and cultural exchange among alumni, demonstrating the Wen Zhong Alumni Association’s active efforts to preserve Chinese cultural heritage.

This Spring Festival Calligraphy Competition is not only a showcase of calligraphy talents but also a cultural event carefully planned by the Wen Zhong Alumni Association to promote Chinese culture and foster alumni interaction and unity. This year’s Spring Festival Calligraphy Competition attracted calligraphy enthusiasts of all ages to actively participate, with contestants giving their all to showcase their outstanding calligraphy prowess. The competition was divided into four categories: elementary, junior high, high school, and open group.

A total of 63 participants entered this year, including 20 in the elementary group, 14 in the junior high group, 12 in the high school group, and 17 in the open group. Participants showcased their works, displaying their deep understanding and creativity in calligraphy art, amidst a tense yet orderly competition atmosphere.

To encourage continuous progress in the art of calligraphy, the competition established special merit, merit, and commendation awards for each category, and added a non-Chinese award to recognize outstanding calligraphy works created against different cultural backgrounds. The judges meticulously scored each participant's work.

After intense competition, the award ceremony began at 11 o'clock. The organizing committee chairman first delivered a speech, followed by the announcement of the winners in each category. During the award presentation, the event sponsors presented certificates to the winners, and everyone witnessed the efforts of the awardees together.

The special merit winners of this Spring Festival Calligraphy Competition are: Elementary group special merit winner Zhao Jingji, merit winners Ling Jinghao, Liu Shaoen; Junior high group special merit winner Zheng Liangchuan, merit winners Huang Bingxuan, Lin Enhui; High school group special merit winner Hong Zhengui, merit winners Yang Liyan, Liu Jia'en; Open group special merit winner Lei Mingfa, merit winners Xing Xiuzhu, Fang Xiufei.
