(Miri, 29th) The 7th Asian Children’s Art Talent International Grand Prix “Asian Grand Final” was successfully held in Chengdu, China. The overall grand champion was won by Chien Wei Cheng from Bintulu, Sarawak.
Malaysia's Northern, Central, and East Malaysia regions rigorously selected elite contestants to participate. All young Malaysian participants performed outstandingly, winning various awards such as Special Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The top three honors—Grand Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up—were all swept by Malaysian contestants, marking a brilliant milestone.
This year's competition assembled more than a hundred outstanding young contestants from Mainland China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and other Asian regions. With art as a bridge, the event created a platform for cross-border youth cultural exchange.
The event was jointly initiated by the “Asian Children's Music Association” and “China Shuangyuefang Records”. Its core purpose is to discover children with artistic talents across Asia, to provide a fair and professional international stage for performances, to promote mutual learning in children’s art education among Asian countries, and to convey the charm of children's art. It aims to break down regional and language barriers, use talent exchanges to deepen friendship among Asian youth, and to help foster a vibrant, diverse children’s music, dance, and instrumental arts industry.
This grand competition was co-organized by authoritative art institutions from multiple countries. Partners included Korea’s KBS TV, Korea Group Dance Association, Korea Performing Arts Association, Russia Starlight Music, International Chinese Artist Association, Hongkan Magazine, Taipei Qing Fei Bao Entertainment Co., Ltd., Malaysia’s Spirit Entertainment and Dixin Yinli Music Academy.
The Asian International Grand Finals specially invited two well-known hosts: Taiwan's popular children’s program host “Qingting Gege” (Dragonfly Brother) Song Yi Zhang, and Malaysia’s own young host Zhang Ziying. The two worked seamlessly together, keeping the entire event lively and engaging, and providing a relaxed but professional stage for contestants from all countries.
The grand final also featured an awards ceremony to honor institutions and outstanding music workers who have long been dedicated to nurturing children’s art and supporting Asian youth cultural exchanges.
The Asia-Pacific Art Talent Incubation Meritorious Institutions (Malaysia) were Music Password Music Academy, Dixin Yinli Music Academy, Miri Dabpo Association Youth Group, and Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The Outstanding Mentor Awards were presented to Chen Yiyuan, Zhu Jingxiang, Liu Diyi, and Feng Weimei.
The jury for this year's grand final had strong international authority, featuring judging experts from Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Russia. Their expertise covered songwriting, vocal music, dance, children’s education, and other diverse fields.
The Malaysian representative judge was renowned musician and Secretary-General of the Asian Children's Music Association, Mr. Ou Junwei, who has many years of experience judging international children’s competitions and has long promoted Malaysia-China youth music exchange. He participated throughout, scoring and professionally evaluating contestants’ stage performances from all countries.
The panel was particularly moved after the competition, specifically mentioning that the children’s outstanding performances could not have happened without the patient professional guidance from their mentors and the unwavering companionship and support from their parents. The combined efforts of families and teachers were recognized as the greatest source of confidence for children daring to take the international stage and fully express themselves.
China's Papafather of Children's Music Praises Malaysian Contestants Renowned as the “Godfather of Children’s Music” in China, Chen Shuang once again served as chief judge at this year’s “Asian Grand Final.” He gave very high praise to the Malaysian contestants, stating that this year’s Malaysian team’s performance far exceeded expectations. The children’s stage presence and emotional expression were natural and delicate, reflecting multicultural local characteristics and not mere imitation; preserving pure childhood essence, with a balance of vocal and stage skills. Their overall caliber stood out among all participating regions, showing great artistic development potential. He looks forward to seeing more Malaysian children who love the arts showcase their talent on the Asian stage in the future.
All winners received internationally recognized trophies and certificates of honor. The top three contestants will later be invited to participate in an Asian multi-country children's art exhibition tour. Malaysian organizers Spirit Entertainment and Dixin Yinli Music Academy stated that they will continue deepening cooperation with other Asian art institutions in the future, organizing more cross-border exchange camps and constantly enabling outstanding Malaysian children to stand on the international stage.
