(Miri, 5th) The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBNS) has released its latest report stating that, as of now, the overall number of affected households (KIR) and disaster victims in the temporary evacuation centers (PPS) across the state is showing a declining trend. However, in some areas of Mukah Division, the number of disaster victims has increased.
Currently, a new temporary evacuation center (PPS) has been established in Sarikei Division at the Dewan Masyarakat Pakan. Meanwhile, three temporary evacuation centers have officially closed today, located at SK Abang Kadir hall in Gedong, Serian; SMK Assykirin hall in Sg Plan, Bintulu; and Balairaya Kampung in Pujut Adong, Miri.
Despite the closure of some evacuation centers, there are still 29 temporary evacuation centers operating across seven divisions in Sarawak. As of now, there are still 1,543 affected households, involving 5,281 disaster victims.
The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee will continue to monitor the weather and disaster developments to ensure the safety of affected residents and provide necessary assistance.
