Some netizens uploaded videos on social platforms of their daughter allegedly defecating behind display racks at a UNIQLO store in Luzhou, New Taipei City, sparking backlash from netizens who demanded the well-known brand address the situation immediately or face a boycott of their so-called 'poop-scented clothes'.
The United Daily News reported on the 9th that reporters' attempts to contact the video uploader were unsuccessful, and calls to the store went unanswered, leaving the incident unaddressed for now.
According to reports, a netizen uploaded a video on IG and Threads on the 8th. The video shows a little girl hiding among the display racks of jackets of a well-known Japanese clothing brand, innocently saying, 'I’m pooping, don’t mind me.' The person filming, presumably her father, asks, 'Did you poop yet?' to which the girl responds, 'It will come out soon.'
Solving constipation here
The person filming says, 'Every time you’re constipated, dad brings you here, and you always poop, right?' The little girl replies, 'I always poop here,' and the filmer concludes, 'It’s truly amazing,' while praising the brand as 'awesome'.
The post, written from a first-person perspective, states, 'I must first deeply apologize to the brand and its customers. I have been on prescription medication for constipation for over two years, and its effectiveness has recently waned. I've arranged to revisit the doctor to strengthen the effects.'
'A faint princess poop scent'
The text also says, 'Unexpectedly discovered by mom and dad, your store’s atmosphere and vibes are exceptionally suited for pain-free defecation. Tested over several weeks, it never fails, and I once again sincerely apologize. If your company receives any customer complaints about a faint princess poop scent on the clothes, please contact us, and we will take full responsibility.'
The post also points out, 'Thank you very much for providing such a perfect venue for my long-suffering little princess and her ...uhm... flower to find salvation, and a big thank you to the Evergreen Store staff in Luzhou for their tolerance and understanding.'
The uploaded video left netizens calling it disgusting, believing parents were wrong for allowing the child to do so, and potentially violating laws. Some were also concerned the exposed video could affect the girl's future psychological state.
However, some netizens suggest that children usually wear diapers and might not have actually defecated in the display; they think it might just be a joke, as there was no real evidence of 'poop'. Yet, others disagree, believing any foul smell is best avoided.
