Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, stated on the 19th that the cabinet meeting has decided to restore the original visa-free policy for more than 90 countries, which is generally about 30 days of visa-free stay.
He pointed out that the visa policy committee will subsequently conduct separate reviews for each country and consider security and economic factors to formulate new visa-free policies.
On July 15, 2024, the Thai government announced the extension of visa-free entry for tourism, business activities, emergency work, or temporary work for citizens of 93 countries and regions, including Malaysia, with a maximum stay of no more than 60 days per entry.
The new visa policy will take effect 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette.
