US President Trump stated on the 15th that he plans to impose tariffs of over 10% on smaller countries, including those in Africa and the Caribbean.
During an interview with the media at Andrews Air Force Base, he said: "We may impose a uniform tariff on all of these smaller countries."
He indicated that goods from at least 100 countries may be subject to tariffs of "slightly over 10%."
In recent days, Trump has sent letters to the leaders of more than 20 trading partners, stating that from August 1, tariffs ranging from 20% to 50% will be imposed on certain trading partners.
