(Gaza, 19th) The Gaza Civil Defense said that the Israeli military shelled a bus on Friday, resulting in the death of nine members of a Palestinian family.
According to AFP, Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Basar said on Saturday (October 18): "Our teams recovered nine bodies after the Israeli army directly attacked the bus, including four children and two women."
The Israeli military fired "two tank shells" at the bus in the Zeitoun area of Gaza on Friday (the 17th).
The Israeli army stated that they found a vehicle crossing the "yellow line" and fired warning shots at it. The so-called "yellow line" refers to the border guarded by Israeli forces as delineated by the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement.
Basar said that due to the powerful explosion, the bodies were scattered, and the remains of two children are still missing. Furthermore, because the area is "complex in terrain and environmental conditions," recovery work for the bodies is especially difficult.
