(Miri, 24th) Miri Fuzhou Association Chairman Huang Zhibin emphasized that it is not easy for children to study nowadays, as the learning level has greatly increased compared to the past. In this fiercely competitive era, education plays a crucial role, and the association's prizes and scholarships aim to provide support on their educational journey.

He mentioned this in his speech at the 2023 Excellence Awards for Member's Children, the Late Dato' Sri Huang Shuang An's Bursary for Needy Children, and the 15th Chinese Creative Writing Elite Competition Award Ceremony for Primary School Students in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, held at the association today.

He expressed his gratitude for those who attended this important event organized by the Miri Fuzhou Association, making the association's activities more substantial and meaningful. He also congratulated all the award-winning students, whose hard work and effort were recognized and affirmed.

During the event, he also announced that the association had granted a total of 174 prizes and 18 scholarships to members' children. This is the association's modest effort toward education and a show of care and support for the next generation.

According to him, the establishment of the excellence awards encourages members' children to strive for excellence. The bursaries aim to help those from financially challenged backgrounds but who have good qualities, supporting them in pursuing higher education in local universities. Each prize and bursary signifies the association's recognition and encouragement for these students, sincerely wishing them to continue their efforts and realize their dreams.

He hopes that these annual prizes will inspire more children to study hard and pursue excellence, while the bursaries can help more needy students receive quality education, paving the way for their future.

Previously, the education group director of the association, Liu Zheng Zupel, also emphasized in his speech that knowledge changes fate and academic excellence is an important foundation for success. He encouraged students to cherish learning opportunities, maintain a spirit of diligence, and strive to realize their dreams.

He further quoted the saying "Youth is the hope of the nation" and pointed out that the future achievements of Fuzhou youth are not only a source of pride for families but also a hope for the nation. He urged students to not only improve their academic performance but also focus on moral cultivation to become useful talents for society's comprehensive development.

"Through competitions, children not only enhance their love for the Chinese language but also showcase their deep cultural literacy and creative potential."

He stated that such cultural activities aim to preserve and promote Chinese culture, and inspire the next generation to take pride in the Chinese language, using it as a link to facilitate educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation among the three regions.

In addition, the "Late Dato' Sri Huang Shuang An's Bursary for Needy Children" aims to help reduce the economic burden on families with financial difficulties, providing them with fair educational opportunities. Several outstanding students and children from needy families were recognized and supported, motivating them to continue their efforts academically and demonstrate an enterprising spirit.

This award ceremony not only recognized the outstanding performance of the students but also highlighted the Miri Fuzhou Association's support and importance of education, witnessing the progress and heritage of education and culture together.
