(Miri, 30th) — The Pujut Branch of SUPP's Subang Sub-branch Singing Group held a Parents’ Day members' singing competition last night at the N74 Pujut Constituency Service Centre. The atmosphere at the event was warm and joyful, showcasing the harmony and passion for singing among the members.
Pujut State Assemblyperson and SUPP Pujut Branch Chairperson, Mayor Yu Xiaoshan, was invited to attend and deliver a speech. She pointed out that Lee Cui Rong, the leader of the Subang Singing Group, has persevered in leading the group for 21 years, which is truly admirable. During this time, the event only paused for two years due to movement control orders (MCO) during the pandemic, and was never interrupted in other years.
She noted that the singing group currently has more than a hundred members, all getting along harmoniously. Through singing activities, they have fostered closer relationships, which is gratifying. She also jokingly mentioned that due to her schedule, the event date had been changed three times, thanked everyone for their understanding and tolerance, and emphasized: "The most important thing is that everyone is happy."

Organizing Committee Chairperson, Lau Shiyuan, also apologized during his speech for the three postponements of the event and encouraged the members for their enthusiasm, cheering them on with "Go for it, singers!"
Subang Singing Group leader Lee Cui Rong, in her thank you speech, especially acknowledged former Miri Mayor Dato Hii King Chiong and SUPP Pujut Branch Vice Chairman Xie Chaoqiang.
She also thanked Subang Sub-branch Deputy Chairperson Zhang Zhenmin and Pujut Branch Chairperson Yu Xiaoshan. She pointed out that although the first two were unable to attend the event in person, they still generously donated funds, showing their support and recognition for the singing group.
The event not only promoted the spirit of respect and filial piety for parents, but also showcased the energy and unity of the community’s seniors, making this Parents’ Day even more meaningful.
