According to Chinese state media CCTV News, at 11:12 pm on Tuesday, Putin's special plane landed at Beijing Capital International Airport. This is his 25th visit to China.
A welcome ceremony was held for Putin at the airport. After Wang Yi accompanied him down the red carpet, Putin got into a car and left.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet with Putin on Wednesday, and the two sides will exchange views on bilateral relations, cooperation in various fields, as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
Putin's visit follows the conclusion of U.S. President Trump's visit to China. Observers believe that Putin wants to use this visit to demonstrate the unbreakable Russia-China relationship.
According to Russian media reports, during his trip in Beijing, Putin is riding a Russian Aurus car with Chinese license plates. This black Aurus car uses number plates belonging to the Russian Embassy in China.
The Aurus car is known as the "Russian Rolls-Royce". It is Russia's first high-end car brand and is used as a special vehicle for receiving foreign heads of state. The car has special features such as bulletproof and explosion-proof protection.
